Is Kyle going to have to sit this one out?
We’re still months away from the release of the NASCAR Cup Series schedule for 2025, but rumors are already flying about some new tracks that we may see next year.
Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, is that NASCAR is going to take the show south of the border for a race in Mexico City.
And honestly, this wouldn’t be much of a surprise. NASCAR has raced in Mexico before, with the Xfinity Series taking the track at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez road course in Mexico City from 2005-2006. And it’s well known that NASCAR has been anxious to get to other countries to try to expand the sport’s reach in recent years, with rumored races in Canada also being on the table.

So while we wait to see if drivers do indeed need to dust off their passports for 2025, there’s another question on everybody’s minds: Is Kyle Busch even allowed in Mexico?
If you’ll remember back to January 2023, the driver of the #8 car for Richard Childress Racing revealed that he had been detained while boarding a plane in Mexico after a handgun was discovered in his bag.
