Agassi ignores Nadal when building his perfect tennis player

Andre Agassi has spoken wonders about Rafael Nadal on several occasions, so the fact that he did not include the Spanish player in any of the parameters set to design his ideal tennis player has surprised many. While being considered one of the greatest in history, he does include Carlos Alcaraz in a curious list.

It is one of the most interesting abstraction exercises in the world of tennis, and every lover of this sport has done it at some point. Building the perfect tennis player by choosing specific strokes, physical condition, and mentality is becoming increasingly common among very influential people in this sport, and the latest to do so is Andre Agassi. Questioned about it on Eurosport, what no one expected is that the Las Vegas native completely forgot about Rafael Nadal.

It would be logical to think that all members of the Big 3 would find a place in one of the valued aspects, but the Balearic tennis player is not part of the plans of Agassi, who also did not include Pete Sampras, his great rival, on his list. Roger Federer was chosen for his drive, Novak Djokovic for his mentality, while Carlos Alcaraz is perceived by Agassi as the best in terms of execution speed and mental agility. All of this may sound logical, as well as Andre choosing himself for the backhand stroke.

No one expected that there would be no parameter in which to include Rafael Nadal. Questioned about the serve, the American went with one of his compatriots, John Isner. Some factors remained to be evaluated, such as net play, where Sampras could have fit, while Rafa’s versatility makes him a candidate in many areas, but his name faded into the forgetfulness of Andre Agassi, who has caused a stir with this exercise.
