Adrian Newey and Red Bull Racing have announced that they will part ways at the Miami Grand Prix. Since then, everyone in the world of Formula One has been trying to figure out where the British master designer to end up. One of the rumoured teams are Aston Martin. According to former driver Jaime Alguersuari, this transfer could change a lot in Fernando Alonso’s future
Fernando Alonso joined Aston Martin in 2023 from Alpine, as the British team needed to sign a driver to replace Sebastian Vettel. That season began superbly for the Spaniard, as Aston Martin seemed to be the second force on the grid behind Red Bull. Alonso himself scored six podiums at the first eight weekends of the year.
However, since then, the chasers not only caught up to Lawrence Stroll’s team, but since passed them. They are currently in P5 of the constructors’ championship, 193 points behind Mercedes.
