As the NASCAR Cup Series regular season heads towards a riveting close with its final four races, drivers Bubba Wallace of 23XI Racing and Ross Chastain of Trackhouse Racing under pressure of securing a spot in the playoffs. Currently, Wallace is positioned as the first driver outside playoff eligibility, just seven points behind his rival, Chastain.
Chastain is clinging to the 16th position—the cutoff line for playoffs. Speaking about the pressure of defending his position, the Trackhouse Racing driver commented, as quoted by :
“Approach for me is a constant evolution. Really no two weeks are ever the same. If I find something that’s going to help me better physically, then I do it. My weeks and my preparation are really never the same.

“We can’t try any harder now than we did before the break.”
Wallace, on the other hand, faces a more daunting path. He has battled inconsistency at these tracks in the past, particularly at Richmond, where despite multiple starts, a top 10 finish continues to elude him. Reflecting on his precarious standing, Wallace shared his unease:
“Definitely don’t feel safe until you’re locked in. We have four very good opportunities to do that. Ran really well here in the spring. … four real good opportunities to make some headway but you know, also four good opportunities to take us out of contention so have to show up and it’s time to put it back into gear.”
