Can Chase Elliott’s Consistency Hold Off His HMS Teammates

With the NASCAR season heating up, all eyes are on Hendrick Motorsports. Among the team’s standout drivers, Chase Elliott has caught everyone’s attention not just for his Texas win but also for his consistency throughout the season. As the regular-season championship race intensifies, the big question is whether Elliott’s steady performance can hold off the fierce competition from his own teammates.

Chase Elliott’s approach has been less about seeing the checkered flag first and more about staying in the game every single week. As this strategy has paid off, Kyle Dalton took to his ‘Beating and Banging’ YouTube channel to discuss the team’s performance, as Dalton believes Elliott’s path to the top is anything but easy.

Despite having just one win to his name at Texas, the No. 9 team has managed to stay at the forefront of the competition thanks to Chase Elliott’s ability to avoid major setbacks.

As Kyle Dalton explained, Elliott’s average finishing position of 10.5 makes him a strong contender during the NASCAR season playoffs, giving Mr. H an added ray of hope instead of having to bank solely on Cup series current leader Kyle Larson. This consistency has made him the most reliable driver at Hendrick Motorsports this year and possibly in the entire garage.

On the other hand, teammates William Byron and Kyle Larson have been on more of a rollercoaster ride. Byron’s season has been marked by dramatic swings, with five finishes of 26th or worse but also several high points, including a win at Indianapolis

Larson, the 2021 champion, has experienced a rather unpredictable season. He’s grabbed four wins, most recently at the Brickyard, but has also had some notable lows, such as a 32nd place at Atlanta and a 34th at Darlington. Their feast-or-famine strategies have resulted in lower average finishes compared to Elliott but have kept them in the hunt with their high-scoring victories.

Although Chase Elliott has been one of the most consistent drivers in the Cup series, he did not need to be a regular in the Xfinity series to score a win. Let’s take a look at how Elliott’s performance not only proves that he is a front-runner in the Cup series but also shows that he has not forgotten his roots.
