It has not been the best of starts to the new season for Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott. After a winless season in 2023, fans expected the driver of the #9 car to come out of the gates firing on all cylinders, but that has not been the case. Elliott has struggled to run near the top of the pack and compete for fans. A six-time NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver winner, his stock seems to have decreased with his fans due to his consistent lackluster performances as fans recently bashed him under an IcyVert tweet
Hendrick Motorsports star is going to take some more time to fight for wins
While last season was understandably bad for the driver of the #9 car, there is no excuse in 2024. There is no massive injury and the Hendrick Motorsports star has not missed any race. So what is the issue? Why is a former Cup Series champion struggling to even run in the top 5? There are a number of reasons that could contribute to all of that, but Elliott is willing to do whatever it takes to get to the top once again.
I think that I recognize that things aren’t just going to get better overnight. I have known that for a period of time now and at the end of the day, I don’t know how many steps there are to getting to where you need to go. I think until you encounter that entire journey, I don’t think anyone really knows. But I’m willing to take however many steps it takes to get there and I think that’s the bottom line of the importance of what matters,” he had said earlier, as per a report by NASCAR.

Under the X post by IcyVert which read “no NASCAR driver has more aura then Chase Elliott,” several fans voiced their disapproval. “As an Elliott fan, I can confidently say it’s not true,” one user commented. Another fan quipped, “He has the least amount of personality out of any driver in history.”
Since the driver of the #9 car won his last Cup Series championship, several racers have made names for themselves and fans believe that they have more of a personality than Elliott. “As an Elliott fan, no. It’s Bubba (Wallace),” one fan wrote. Another user preferred the driver of the #1 Trackhouse Racing car. “Not anymore unfortunately. Right now it’s Ross Chastain,” they commented.
Some fans were hilarious with comments as they drew comparisons of Chase Elliott’s personality with the most boring of things. “An aura of dryness. This dude is like watching grass grow,” one user wrote. “Aura? Buddy has the personality of wet cardboard,” quipped another. Even the most avid fans had to acknowledge the lack of character in their favorite driver. “He’s been my favorite driver since he entered Cup, so no absolutely not. He’s very private and quiet,” one wrote.
