Chase Elliott Looks To Rebound In his relationship with….

2020 Nascar Cup Series champion Chase Elliott is preparing for the 2024 season with a determination to return to the winner’s circle.

Elliott missed the playoffs for the first time in his eighth season with Hendrick Motorsports after an injury kept him out of the car for six races. Not only did Elliott miss the playoffs, but he also failed to win for the first time since 2017.

Elliott went winless in his first two full Cup seasons with Hendrick Motorsports. At the time, he drove the No. 24 car before the team rebranded his Chevrolet to the No. 9 that his father Bill Elliott made famous.

“I had a little procedure on my shoulder,” Elliott said on X. “I had an old injury that I needed to get tended to and obviously the offseason is a much better time to do that than my last surgery.”

Elliott said he will be all set to return when the Nascar Cup Series hits the track for the first time in 2024 at the L.A. Coliseum for the Busch Light Clash.

On top of missing those six races, he missed a seventh at Gateway after Nascar suspended him for intentionally wrecking Denny Hamlin during the Coca-Cola 600. These are incidents that never happened in Elliott’s career

Now, Elliott can put the trials and tribulations from the 2023 season behind him. There is no point of ask the “what if” series of questions, because it doesn’t change anything.

Instead, the No. 9 team, led by crew chief Alan Gustafson, needs to focus on getting back to a winning pace. In 29 races in 2023, he only led 195 laps, down from over 850 in each of the previous three seasons. Throughout the entire season — putting the injury aside — something was missing from the No. 9 team. Their speed was just a tick off from the past and the consistency they previously had was not present.

Expectations will be high for Elliott in 2024, especially after teammates William Byron and Kyle Larson both battled in the Championship 4. Combined, the two won 10 races in 2023. If Elliott can get back to his winning ways, he will be a contender for the title once again come 2024.
