The 2023 Formula 1 season ended with three-time champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez finishing as champion as runner-up for Red Bull for the first time.
However, both closed the year with another triumph, this time from the seats of a kart, conquering the Honda Thanks Day.
Every year the Honda Racing Thanks Day is celebrated and we see drivers from F1, MotoGP, among other categories of motorsport. This year there were several drivers from the top circuit of motorsport, such as Checo Perez, Max Verstappen; both fro Red Bull Racing. Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda were also present from sister team AlphaTauri.
The karting competition sees pairs competing against each other. Each one has to do at least five laps on the track to be able to give the kart to his teammate. In the case of the duo formed by the Guadalajara-born driver and the Dutchman, it was Max who took the first seat.
Of course, everyone would think that Verstappen would lead from start to finish, but the main Red Bull driver was slowed down by a crash with Ricciardo; even placing last.

A spin by Nakagami was key for Sergio Perez to take the lead of the competition, and despite Tsunoda’s attacks, the Mexican crossed the checkered flag on top.
In an interview with the Asian organizers, the former Sauber and Force India driver was happy for a fun and different race that reminds him of his early years
