Emma Raducanu has confirmed that she has successfully undergone three different surgeries on three different injuries as her road to recovery begins.

The British tennis star recently revealed that she would miss the French Open and Wimbledon this year and had the first procedure on her right racket-playing hand, the second on her left hand and a third on her left ankle.

Raducanu has struggled with various injuries ever since sensationally winning the US Open as a qualifier in 2021 – propelling her to worldwide fame – and posted a photo of herself from her hospital bed on Monday with the caption: ‘all glitz, 3/3’.

It is unclear when the 20-year-old will return to WTA Tour action with Johanna Konta adamant Raducanu will try to come back for the US Open in late August, although a renowned sports doctor admits she may now miss the rest of 2023.

Raducanu recently slipped outside of the world top 100 for the first time since her Flushing Meadows fairytale in New York and last played at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in April – suffering a brutal first-round defeat to Jelena Ostapenko.

That was her third loss in a row following exits at the Miami Open and Indian Wells in March and she has still not landed a second piece of silverware at any level since winning the US Open nearly two years ago.

Raducanu is currently coached by Sebastian Sachs but Serena Williams’ former coach Rick Macci is desperate to work with her once she is back to full fitness and says they could win more Grand Slams together.
