F1 Expert Claims Mick Schumacher Could Leave Mercedes soon

Following his exit from Haas, Mick Schumacher found himself in the Mercedes AMG F1 team as their reserve driver in 2023. The German driver joined the Silver Arrows and is behind Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in the pecking order. In terms of guidance, Toto Wolff has taken him under his wing. However, as per a recent report by GP Blog, an F1 expert claimed that Schumacher might be on his way out of Mercedes to see his future elsewhere.

The former Haas driver faced a lot of criticism last year from its team principal Guenther Steiner. The Haas boss was extremely unhappy about Schumacher’s performance and the extremely high expenses the German driver incurred for the team due to multiple crashes.

Even since Schumacher joined Mercedes, he has been an active part of the team’s development, doing his part as the reserve driver. However, with Hamilton and Russell extending their contract for the two upcoming years, the German driver has to look elsewhere if he wants to get back to the grid.

As Schumacher is looking for other opportunities, Julien Febreau, a journalist for French media Canal+ recently revealed as per GP Blog that the 23-year-old driver could make a move to Alpine. However, he will not be replacing Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon in the team.
