Fernando Alonso warns Aston Martin to wake up after challenging races

Fernando Alonso achieved a 14th place result in the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix.

The Aston Martin team, led by their president, is going through a disappointing season in Formula 1. Currently, they are ranked fifth in terms of speed among the 2024 grid teams.

Aston Martin had high hopes for the race in Imola, where they introduced a significant upgrade package. However, to their surprise, the package did not deliver the desired results. Both drivers, and , failed to secure points during the recent Monaco Grand Prix

While Alonso considers the last two races as a wake-up call, Aston Martin’s Team Principal, , acknowledges the need for the team to regroup before the event in Canada. The AMR24 struggled to make a significant impact during the 78-lap race in Monaco.

Stroll and Alonso finished in 11th and 14th place, respectively, in Monaco.

Throughout the ongoing season, Aston Martin has only accumulated 44 points. In comparison, Mercedes currently holds fourth place with 96 points. Faced with this situation, the green team cannot afford more setbacks. The Canadian Grand Prix is of great importance to Aston Martin as they strive to climb higher in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.
