Giannis Antetokounmpo trash talks 2025 NBA draft lotter

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently gearing up for the 2024-25 NBA season, where he and the Bucks will look to bounce back from a disappointing 2023-24 campaign.

At the same time, young standouts and NBA hopefuls Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper are preparing for the 2025 NBA Draft, where they’re projected to be lottery picks. On Friday, photos and videos of Antetokounmpo working out with the two Rutgers players hit social media. While the trio were working out together, the Greek Freak got some trash talk in as well, letting them both know that if they have their sights set on playing in the NBA, he has his sights set on them.

During a mid-range shooting drill where the three players worked together to hit shots in succession without missing, Giannis Antetokounmpo decided to get some trash talk in, putting the two teenagers on notice.

Given that the Milwaukee Bucks’ first and second-round draft picks next summer will go to other teams, with the Pelicans getting the pick if it lands 1-4, and the Nets getting the first-round pick if it lands in the 5-30 range, the two Rutgers freshmen may be destined to play opposite The Greek Freak.

In one clip, Antetokounmpo can be seen giving the two pointers on their post-fade moves, explaining how balance and having a good base are two key elements to a successful post-fade. As he explained, rather than coming off one leg during a post-fade shot, you get better balance when elevating into the shot off two feet.In another clip, Antetokounmpo can be seen explaining how great players like Kevin Durant, for example, find ways to get to their spots on a court. In another, he can be seen teaching Ace Bailey how to get defenders to bite on his post-shimmy in order to finish with a step-through.
Of course, in addition, the trio got in some round-robin one-on-one as well, with players swapping in and out, as seen in the first clip below.

Giannis Antetokounmpo spoke with cameras after, reflecting on the workout ahead of the collegiate duo’s first year with Rutgers.
“Well first off, both of them were really good. I got to get my s**t together, you know, the talent is an all-time high right now. They’re coming. You can see like all the players that get drafted in the league, how they’re able to from year one be effective in the league.
“… But you see guys, they’re already NBA-ready, especially those two. They can play positionless basketball, they can affect the game in many ways. So I’m excited to see them in the next few years in the league.”
If both players are one-and-done collegiate players, they would then wind up getting drafted next summer.
