Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is out for the season with right shoulder surgery, but he is still around the team on almost a daily basis. Recently spotted at Grizzlies shoot-around, Morant knocked down a couple of left-handed free throws while his right arm was in a sling:
This was really cool to see, because not only is Morant staying around his teammates while they fight to make the best out of this dreadful season, but he seems to be in vey good spirits despite how this year has gone for him.
Beginning the season with a 25-game suspension, Morant returned to the court on a mission. Hitting a game-winner in his first game back, Morant looked determined to lead the Grizzlies to a playoff spot. Playing just nine games before being sidelined for the year with a tear in his shoulder, Morant essentially lost an entire season.

While Morant’s injury has rightfully gotten the most coverage, he is far from the only Grizzlies player to miss significant time this season. Starting center Steven Adams was ruled out for the season before it even began, Brandon Clarke could miss the entire season as well, and several other top rotation players have missed significant time this season – including Desmond Bane who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.
It has been that kind of year, but Morant and his teammates are still pushing through.
