Ja Morant praises Derrick Rose after his retirement

Memphis Grizzlies have started their training camp program, Ja Morant talked to the media and bid his farewell to Derrick Rose who retired from basketball few days ago.

NBA is starting to gear up for the new season, as training camp obligations started for all the teams.

Memphis Grizzlies were no exception, and like always, they had a segment of media availability for everyone interested.

Ja Morant was ready to answer all the questions, and was full of praise when a reporter asked him about Derrick Rose’s retirement.

“Hell of a career, man. Derrick is a special guy, special talent. Everybody knows what he means to the game of basketball, know what he means to athletic guards.”

He pretty much paved the way for guys like me, so honestly, big congrats on everything.”

Morant clarified that the best thing is Rose being able to leave when he wanted, not being forced to retire.

“I feel like the best thing about it is that he was able to walk out on his own terms. That’s all you can ask for pretty much as a player. Hats off to him,” Morant concluded.
