In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant revealed untold details of his season-ending shoulder injury. The video, which was produced by Shot By Nie, includes footage of Morant detailing his injury to a group of friends and family.
“I laced my [shoes] up, hopped up, [moved my arm]… I’m like, ‘Oh.’ Deadass just paused… I’m like, ‘Joey! Joey! My shoulder is out of place.’ He didn’t hear me. Pete come over there and run, start dangling my shoulder… It wasn’t going back in. He had to pop it back in.”
Joey Davey is a strength and conditioning coach for the Grizzlies, and Pete Elliot is their head athletic trainer. These are presumably the two people Morant was referring to when detailing this story.

Recognizing something was off with his shoulder, Morant reveals it popped out of place when he was doing a simple arm motion while getting ready to go shoot around. Shortly after this portion of the YouTube video, heartbreaking footage of Morant finding out he would be sidelined for the season was shown.
This season ending injury for Morant leaves him with just nine games played this year, as he had already missed 25 games due to suspension prior to this injury. Morant is expected to make a full recovery by the start of next season.
