Despite being without Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr., Luke Kennard, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, and others, the Memphis Grizzlies took down Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night.
It was an improbable win for a very shorthanded Grizzlies team, and a very bad loss for Milwaukee, who continues to struggle in the Doc Rivers era. Following the game, Grizzlies star Ja Morant shared this message on his Instagram story
Shouting out Ziaire Williams and GG Jackson, who combined for 54 points in this win, Morant was excited for his young teammates after this game. Performances like this are why Memphis cannot be too upset about how this season has gone. While it is undoubtedly frustrating what the Grizzlies have dealt with health-wise, they have made some solid discoveries in GG Jackson, Vince Williams Jr., and some others who may have the opportunity to help a lot next season once Morant returns.
The Grizzlies will not be making the playoffs, but they have found some very solid pieces who can help them regain their spot near the top of the Western Conference next season once they get healthy.
