For the first time in his full-time career, Kyle Busch went winless in a NASCAR Cup Series season.
A 21st-place finish brought an end to a winning streak of 19 seasons for Busch, dating back to his first two career wins in 2005.
Over those 19 seasons, he went from being a young, controversial, hotshot rookie with a big mouth and a lot of talent, to the respectful elder statesman driver with over 200 NASCAR wins, three championships (two in Cup and one in Xfinity) and a voice that he is never afraid to use. While he won twice in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this year, he couldn’t get it done in the sport’s top division this year.

Busch came close, especially early on in the season. He came within 0.007 seconds of winning Atlanta and challenged Ross Chastain for the lead late in the fall Kansas race before a spin ended the battle.
Busch also had possible race-winning speed in the Daytona 500 and at Las Vegas in the spring before pit road issues took him out of contention.
