Kurt Busch hung up his NASCAR helmet after his crash at the Pocono Raceway last year. But fans have kept their fingers crossed, hoping to catch a glimpse of him back on track. Well, guess what? He’s back at the center of racing action, but not in the way one would expect! Instead of burning rubber on a NASCAR track, Kurt’s been spotted soaking up the excitement from the sidelines for Formula One. And it was none other than Samantha Busch who exposed him through her Instagram story.
Samantha’s Instagram was buzzing with a snapshot and a video of Kurt, clearly having the time of his life. He was caught on camera, not behind the wheel, but in the stands, passionately recording the 1.6-liter, hybrid turbocharged V6 beasts. It looks like even off the track, Kurt can’t stay away from the racing world!
Kurt, Kyle, and Samantha Busch had the pleasure to witness the Formula 1 frenzy in their hometown. For the first time in about four decades, Las Vegas was buzzing with the sound of F1 engines, and the Busch trio was there to soak it all in. Samantha captured the moment on Instagram, with a selfie of the gang in one story and another one with a cheeky caption about Kurt’s unabashed fanboy moment while he was busy recording the race glimpse on his phone – “Made it! Kurt fan buying [face with Tears of Joy emoji emojis]”
As it turns out, Kurt Busch has never been shy about wearing his heart on his sleeve, especially when it comes to his love for Formula 1. Flashback to June 2016, with NASCAR taking a week off, Busch jetted off to catch the Haas F1 Team in action at the Grand Prix of Europe in Azerbaijan, right after he qualified 17th for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at MIS.

The thrill of Formula 1 clearly got his motor running; he even toyed with the idea of getting behind the wheel of an F1 car. “I’m sure I’d fit right in the seat, and I’d figure out where the start button is. I just don’t know if they’ll let me go out there on my own, but with Gene, you never know. I would love to the opportunity to have a test session or a fun day with a Formula 1 car” he joked, dreaming out loud about a chance to test drive one of these speed demons
Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World, seemed like a perfect match for the glitz of Formula 1. But, as fate would have it, their first dance, in 40 years, has been anything but smooth. The weekend started on the wrong foot. Fans, geared up for high-speed thrills, were left high and dry with the FP1 suspended. The trouble began when Carlos Sainz had a run-in with a rogue drainage cover, damaging his power unit, chassis, and survival cell. But that’s not it! In addition to that, despite being an innocent party in the fiasco, Sainz was slapped with a ten-place grid penalty.
Then came the ripple effect. The crew was up to their elbows in work, meticulously inspecting every drainage cover on the track, while a series of delays in getting the track ready pushed back the second practice session. Eventually, adhering to protocols, after a six-hour standstill, the fans were politely shown the door due to logistical reasons.
