LeBron James looked especially stylish during Thursday’s practice with Team USA ahead of the Paris Olympics, as he debuted his Nike LeBron 22 sneakers during the session:
James previously teased the upcoming sneakers in an Instagram post following a wear test last month.
Nike has yet to announce a release date for the LeBron 22, but Ali Alba of House of Heat noted that it’s expected to debut during the holiday season later this year. The sneaker “draws design elements” from last year’s LeBron 21 and featured a Team USA colorway that coincides with James’ quest to add a third career Olympic gold medal.
“The LeBron 22 ‘Team USA’ is characterized by its sleek and cohesive design, dominated by a large single leather panel that elegantly sweeps across most of the sneaker,” Alba explained. “This design choice not only enhances the shoe’s aesthetic but also contributes to its structural integrity, supporting agile movements on the court.”

Nike has released a new LeBron sneaker every year since the legendary forward’s rookie season in the NBA in 2003-04. James signed a lifetime endorsement deal with the company in December 2015 that is reportedly worth $30 million annually.
Following the Olympics, James will be entering his 22nd season in the NBA. He has indicated that he is nearing the end of his iconic career, and the upcoming campaign will be even more special for him because he will be on the same roster as his son Bronny James, who was selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.
It can be expected that the 39-year-old will be rocking the LeBron 22 when he takes the court for his 22nd year in the league.
