Littler has reportedly received a multi-million-pound offer from Anthony Joshua’s production company to buy the rights to his story, as a film could be made about his incredible rise at the World Darts Championship. The Sun claim that Joshua’s production firm SBX Studios tabled an offer of more than £1million on Wednesday to acquire the film rights to Littler’s story. They are not the only ones to have made a bid after 15 million watched his 7-4 defeat to Humphries on Sky Sports.
The broadcaster are also filming a ‘Wayne Rooney-style’ documentary on Littler that has gone behind the scenes at Alexandra Palace, after Sky said that this year’s final was its highest-ever rated sports event outside of football at 4.8m views.
Joshua and SBX Studios are said to be confident that they have the winning bid for Littler’s film rights, which would capture his childhood growing up in Warrington, Cheshire, falling in love with darts at 18 months old and his young career being nurtured by his father Anthony.

The big-screen blockbuster would culminate in his run and final at Ally Pally, for which he earned £200,000, although he has been forced to give away nearly half of that prize money in income tax. It has been speculated that Littler could earn up to as much as £40m through endorsements, sponsors and the film rights to his story. However, the teenager and his family are yet to make a decision on the offer from Joshua’s production company.
SBX Studios are said to be extremely keen on getting Littler on board and Joshua as a fellow sportsman was inspired by his story, compelling them to make a mouth-watering offer to the teenager to tell his story.
