In the midst of an impressive 2023 campaign, Truex Jr. signed an extension with his team for an additional year. As the 2024 season looms, the seasoned driver remains uncertain about his future and has expressed that fans will have to wait until the conclusion of the season to discover his decision.

During a discussion regarding retirement, Truex Jr. made a jest that contained an element of truth. If he had retired in 2023 alongside Harvick, both drivers would have been eligible for induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame simultaneously. It is possible that only one of them would have been chosen. Truex also playfully remarked about not retiring in the same year as his highly skilled teammate, Denny Hamlin.
Despite amassing over 34 victories throughout his career, there is one race that Truex Jr. has yet to conquer. He has participated in the esteemed Superspeedway race on more than 20 occasions but has never emerged as the victor. His highest placement in the race was second position in 2016.
