Max Verstappen left ‘broken’ by Imola as Wolff addresses Lewis Hamilton concerns

Max Verstappen returned to winning ways at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on Sunday, but the Dutchman did not have it easy as Lando Norris pushed him to the final corner of the final lap following an exceptional final stint

Verstappen had looked comfortable at the front, but McLaren’s superior tyre wear allowed Norris to make a late charge. This bodes well for the European leg of the season, and the Woking-based outfit will look to launch another attack on Red Bull in Monaco this weekend.

Mercedes can also take the positives from their weekend in Imola. The Silver Arrows finished in P6 and P7 respectively with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell enjoying a weekend free from the regular set-up issues that they have been managing of late.

Ferrari’s upgrade package had been tipped to bring them level on terms with Red Bull and McLaren, but the Prancing Horse were one step behind at their home race. That said, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were both feeling positive that there is more to be unlocked from the package.
