Max Verstappen ‘will leave Red Bull’ as Sergio Perez in advanced comeback talks

F1 stars are descending on Suzuka Circuit with the third instalment of the 2025 season only days away. The first two belonged to McLaren, who won in Australia via Lando Norris and China via Oscar Piastri to build up a commanding lead in the Constructors’ Championship

But there are a whole host of teams working tirelessly to close the gap. Mercedes star George Russell finished on the podium in both races, while Red Bull’s four-time world champion Max Verstappen can never be discounted, and Lewis Hamilton already has a sprint win under his belt at Ferrari.

Schumacher Ferrari set for historic auction

Michael Schumacher’s F2001 chassis 211 Ferrariwill be sold at auction later this year.

Experts are expecting it to fetch up to £4.25million when it goes under the hammer before the Monaco Grand Prix on May 24 – something which has never been done before.

Schumacher won the fourth of his seven world titles in 2001 and won nine out of 17 Grands Prix.

Tsunoda has replaced Liam Lawson only two races into the new season and he is widely expected to play a strategy role rather than push for the world title.

But the Japanese driver insists he will have his own chances to shine.

“Performance-wise, [Horner] wants me to be as close to Max as possible,” Tsunoda told BBC Radio 5 Live. “In some races, I can help with the strategy but he also promised me in some situations that if I’m able to be in front of Max that he wouldn’t necessarily ask me to swap positions and make Max win.”
