Mick Schumacher has fuelled rumours that he’s broken up with his model girlfriend by deleting pictures of her on his social media. It comes after his long-time partner, Laila Hasanovic, became one of the rare people allowed to see his Formula Onelegend father, Michael, following a ‘family vote’.
Schumacher, 26, is no stranger to the limelight given that his dad is a seven-time F1 world champion and he himself raced for Haas F1 in 2021 and 2022. And the German driver, who currently races for Alpine in the FIA World Endurance Championship, sparked a media frenzy this week by removing the most recent pictures of Hasanovic – those uploaded after February 2024 – on Instagram. Mick has also reportedly been spotted on celebrity dating app Raya, all but confirming his break-up.
The former Mercedes reserve driver’s profile on the app was shared on social media this week, showing snaps of him posing trackside, beachside and mid-skydive, perhaps to impress potential suitors. It comes as a surprise given the rumours last year that he and Hasanovic were engaged, which were later shut down, having first been seen together at the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix.
The couple regularly shared romantic photos to their millions of social media followers. Former Miss Universe finalist Laila, who comes from Copenhagen and has Bosnian roots, was even one of the few people allowed to see her boyfriend’s dad, who has not been seen in public since his tragic skiing accident in December 2013.
Only a tight-knit inner circle that includes Mick, his mum Corinna, sister Gina-Maria, and close friends are allowed to meet Michael, who is said to “need constant care” and is “completely dependent on caregivers” by RTL reporter Felix Gorner. After a vote, however, the family reportedly agreed that Hasanovic was allowed to meet the racing legend last year.
