The NBA has a lot of very exciting young players that look ready to challenge the game’s established legends who are still playing at a very high level. One of these players is Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who is currently leading his team to the best record in the Western Conference.
During a recent episode of KG Certified, NBA legend Kevin Garnett made a strong statement on Edwards, and included a shoutout for Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant as well.
Initially comparing Edwards to the 1984 version of Michael Jordan, Garnett’s comments reached the Timberwolves star, who agreed with the assessment. Responding to Edwards’ reaction to his initial comment, Garnett said, “He’s electric. I don’t see nobody electric like him. That young bop you be expecting young motherf–kers to have. He got it. I’m a huge Anthony Edwards fan. I’m a huge Ja Morant fan…. Shoutout to both of them.”

Edwards and Morant are certainly in that group of future NBA superstars, as both players have already established themselves as perennial All-Stars in this league, and are looking to take that next step which includes perennial playoff success.
Both Edwards and Morant have limited playoff experience, with Morant having 19 playoff games under his belt, and Edwards having 11. The Grizzlies will of course miss the postseason this year, largely due to Morant’s season ending injury, but the Timberwolves are a lock to make the playoffs.
