If there’s one player in the NBA that fans universally have sympathy for right now, it’s Ja Morant. After missing 25 games to start the season, Morant found himself missing the season after only playing 9 games. The injury was so devastating, that even NBA legends couldn’t believe it.

“You saw Ja, man,” Garnett questioned. “Shout out to Ja, man. Damn, I hate to see that, man. But you, guess what the Ja effect has done? It’s activated Memphis.”

“It’s not a good thing to get hurt,” Paul Pierce said. “But maybe him just being out for the franchise to move forward, for next year, may be good. Because they wasn’t going to the playoffs this year, I don’t care what Ja did. They wasn’t going to the playoffs. They was too far back.”
