Novak Djokovic to miss Miami Open after doctors report on…

The 24-time Grand Slam champion suffered a surprise defeat at Indian Wells and looks set to skip the Miami Open as he turns attention to clay stretch

Novak Djokovic is reportedly set to miss the 2024 Miami Open.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has had an underwhelming start to the season so far and is yet to win a title this year.

After falling to Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals of the Australian Open, the Serb opted to skip the Middle-East swing before suffering a surprise loss at Indian Wells to Italian lucky loser Luca Nardi.

It is not yet known whether missing the Miami Open is due to a physical issue, or whether Djokovic is instead opting to rest and turn his attention to the European clay-court stretch that begins next month.

Djokovic spoke recently of his desire to prioritise Grand Slams and the Olympics this year, as a bumper summer of tennis looms large on the horizon.

His next scheduled tournament would likely be the Monte-Carlo Masters next month, where Rafael Nadal has already been confirmed on the entry list.
