Novak Djokovic’s entire team has now been gutted over the last 17 months following the departure of his fitness trainer Marco Panichi. Five key members of his support staff have left the camp since December 2022, with Djokovic’s ex-coach Goran Ivanisevic among them.
Djokovic announced his split with Panichi on Tuesday, meaning that every member of his old team has now been cleared out in less than two years. “Grande Marco, what amazing years of collaboration we’ve had. He also paid tribute to them on Instagram, writing: “My appreciation and love for you two personally goes beyond any professional relationship.” When Djokovic addressed their split during the Paris Masters in November, he indicated he was looking to take his team in a new direction.
“I’m entering a new chapter about the off-court approach. The transition is not easy but I’m moving forward,” the world No. 1 explained. And it was Ulises Badio, his physiotherapist, who was the first to leave Djokovic’s inner circle at the end of 2022
