The LA Clippers entered Friday night’s game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies knowing they would be facing a very shorthanded team. Memphis entered this game missing Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Steven Adams, Santi Aldama, Brandon Clarke, and Derrick Rose. Losing Desmond Bane in the third quarter to an ankle injury, Memphis was even more shorthanded down the stretch.
Despite this, the Clippers did not lose focus, and were able to take care of business without giving Memphis much hope throughout the game. Speaking about this on the broadcast after the game, Clippers star Paul George said, “It was a professional approach. These games are tough when you find out the whole team isn’t playing, so you gotta adjust the mindset. I thought we did a good job of doing that. We stuck to us, we made this game about us, and we got the job done.”

George had a season-high 37 points in this game, making it 13-straight games with at least 20 points for the Clippers star. Making a real bid for an All-Star spot, George should get some serious consideration as a Western Conference reserve with the way he has been playing throughout LA’s hot streak.
The Clippers have now won 17 of their last 20 games, and continue to roll after a shaky start to the James Harden era.
