“Overall, I think our regular season for the next-gen era probably was as good as it’s been. I crashed a little bit more than I wanted to the second half of the regular season, so that was a bummer and missed out on a lot of opportunity because of that with fast race cars,” Larson said.

Larson described the first half of the season as great and added that the second half was typical of his past inconsistencies. Larson’s recent performance was also affected by his fourth-place finish at the Southern 500. After leading for 263 laps, he lost the win to Chase Briscoe.

“First half went great, second half went typical Kyle Larson,” he added.
Overall, 20 drivers have led over 200 laps in ten or more races in NASCAR. Kyle Larson has been the least successful at turning these leads into wins. Ned Jarrett leads this group by winning 11 of the 12 races. Larson, on the other hand, has only won three out of 11 such races.
