‘Watching the races from the outside is a disaster; I’m always tense’ – Valentino Rossi

After the 2021 season, Valentino Rossi decided to end his career in MotoGP as a rider, but he remains deeply involved in the category – even on a personal level, as his brother Luca Marini is competing there.

On the other hand, Il Dottore has his own project – Pertamina Enduro VR46. And, more than three years after having retired from races, Rossi admitted to the PoretCast di Giacomo Poretti, as quoted by

I have to say that since I’ve been watching the races instead of doing them, it’s very different. Because when you’re racing you are afraid of not doing well, of making a mistake, of crashing, of getting injured, but also of throwing the race away. On the other hand, watching the races from the outside is a disaster.

Rossi revealed that he watches the races feeling tense and with some worries: ‘I’m always tense, also because my brother is racing, and then I also have the other Academy riders, who are my friends, so I suffer’.

But there is something that doesn’t change, according to the Italian: ‘I have to say that MotoGP, the adrenaline and the feeling of MotoGP – even when you are watching, when they get to the grid and are about to start – in my opinion, there is nothing like it
