Chase Elliott gives new update on shoulder procedure

Chase Elliott has used the NASCAR offseason to undergo a procedure on his shoulder to fix an old injury.

Elliott, who missed six races early in 2023 with a fractured tibia, said that he will be ready to go for the 2024 season.

“I had a little procedure on my shoulder,” Elliott said on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I had an old injury that I needed to get tended to and obviously the offseason is a much better time to do that than my last surgery.

“Here we are and everything is all good. Ready to go for 2024, certainly looking forward to the Daytona 500 coming up in February.”

2023 was the first time in Elliott’s full-time Cup career that he missed any races. He missed the spring races at Las Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta, Circuit of the Americas, Richmond and Bristol after fracturing his tibia in a snowboarding accident.

Elliott missed the June race at Gateway while serving a suspension for an incident with Denny Hamlin. Elliott missed the playoffs for the first time and ended the season 17th in the championship standings.

Now that the shoulder procedure is behind him, Elliott will be ready for a healthy return in 2024
